Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026. This Privacy Policy explains what information civilidstatus.org (“Civil ID Status”, “we”, “us”) handles when you visit our website, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Civil ID Status is an independent information website about Kuwait Civil ID services. We are not the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) and are not affiliated with the Government of Kuwait. You can reach us through our Contact Us page.

2. Civil ID and envelope numbers you enter in our checker

We do not collect your Civil ID number. Our checker runs entirely inside your own browser. Any Civil ID number, envelope number, card serial number or MOI number you type is checked on your device and is never sent to our server, saved in a database, or shared with anyone.

If you choose to open the official PACI page, the checker may copy your number to your device’s clipboard so you can paste it there. From that point, you are using PACI’s website, and PACI’s own privacy policy applies.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting, caching and security services automatically record basic technical information when you request a page. This can include:

  • your IP address;
  • browser type, device type and operating system;
  • the pages you visit, the date and time, and the referring website.

We use this information only to deliver the website, keep it fast, protect it from attacks and abuse, and fix technical problems. We do not use it to identify you personally.

4. Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message. We use this only to reply to you and to improve our guides. We keep emails only as long as needed to handle your request. Please do not send us your Civil ID number or personal documents.

5. Third-party services we use

  • Cloudflare: delivers our website and protects it from malicious traffic. Cloudflare may process your IP address and set strictly necessary security cookies.
  • Google Fonts: our fonts may be loaded from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address when the font files are requested.
  • YouTube: some guides include embedded YouTube videos. When a video loads or plays, YouTube (Google) may collect information and set cookies under its own privacy policy.
  • Gravatar: author profile pictures may be provided by Gravatar.

These providers have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. We do not currently use analytics tracking or advertising. If we add them in the future, we will update this policy and our Cookies Policy first.

6. Cookies

We do not set our own tracking cookies. Some cookies may be set by the services listed above. See our Cookies Policy for details and how to control them.

7. Links to other websites

Our guides link to official services such as services.paci.gov.kw, e.gov.kw, meta.e.gov.kw and app stores. Once you leave our site, the other website’s privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for how those websites handle your information.

8. How we protect information

Our website uses HTTPS encryption, and we keep our software and plugins up to date. Because our checker does not send Civil ID numbers to us, there is no database of Civil ID numbers on our side that could be exposed.

9. Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you from emails you have sent, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us through our Contact Us page and we will respond within a reasonable time.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website or the services we use change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
